More Eggs in Egg Harbor

Excerpt from the Peninsula Pulse
May 29, 2015

After last year's highly successful Eggstravaganza, members of the village Public Art Committee proposed that the $61,500 in proceeds to the village be used to purchase more public art, including three permanent eggs created by four of the most popular artists from the Eggstravagazna Sally Everhardus (whose "Screaming Turtle" won the People's Choice Award at last year's event), David Reimer and his wind sculpture egg, and the team of Kathleen Mand Beck and Cynthia Board (whose egg creation for the Eggstravaganza sold for the highest amount, $18,500).

T.C. Johnson, chair of the Public Art Committee, said each artist was paid $5,000 to create the permanent egg displays, which were unveiled May 24 at Harbor View Park, where the eggs will remain on display for a few weeks until they are moved to a permanent location at the village hall.

Reimer's work is untitled, Everhardus' is called "Stegg" and the Mand Beck/Board creation is named "Living Canopy."
